Chapter I «Exile»

We - samurai, loyal to our master, were sent to war against another powerful master. As part of our lord's army, we marched into battle, expecting to meet a worthy opponent. However, upon arriving at the place, we were faced with a surprise: a small army stood in front of us, which seemed to be only trying to delay us.

Unaware of the trick, we fought with courage and determination and were ultimately victorious. Returning to the palace, we prepared to celebrate our victory and honor the fallen, but a terrible turn of events awaited us.

Other samurai entered the palace and gave us grim news: our lord has been killed, and the killer remains unknown. Depressed by this tragedy, we were ordered to commit hara-kiri as a sign of loyalty and devotion.

However, among us there was a group of samurai who doubted this version of events. They assumed that the master was betrayed and killed by those whom we defeated on the battlefield. Deciding to act in secrecy, we found and used a secret passage designed especially for our master in case of crisis.

However, our plan was discovered by other samurai who tried to take us back. Not wanting to give up without a fight, we entered the fray. The battle was brutal and bloody, but in the end, we overpowered the enemy and managed to escape.

Now we are faced with the task of avenging our murdered master and restoring the honor of our army. Our revenge will be cruel and unforgiving, because loyalty and honor are what drive our hearts and souls.

We found ourselves at the bottom of our life cycle, in a place where memories of past success and glory seemed like distant dreams. Our days used to be full of ambition, brilliance and greatness, but now we feel the bitterness of defeat and shame. This was a turning point when unknown heights opened up before us, requiring new efforts and determination from us to conquer.

The spark of hope and determination is still alive in our hearts. Despite the severity of the trials we have endured, our goal remains clear and unchanged: to regain lost honor, restore the nobility of our family and serve our master with the same dignity and devotion.

Having escaped from our pursuers, we plunged into the depths of a dense forest, where every tree and every bush seemed a mysterious witness to our path. Our wandering in search of shelter lasted a long time, but finally, in the center of this green labyrinth, I discovered something unusual. The small village, lost among the ancient trees, seemed to slow down time, taking us back to the times of long-gone years.

In this secluded village, I saw a wooden well with clear water, ancient houses with intricate carvings, and even a blacksmith shop, where time seemed to stand still during the days of artisanal miracles. Opening the door of one of the houses, I was faced with surprise on the face of an old man whom I noticed through the window. His gaze was full of curiosity and amazement, because new faces rarely appeared in his solitary life.

At first I thought that the old man could be dangerous, but when I looked into his deep eyes, bored with this world, I decided that he was unlikely to be dangerous. But, I won't take my eyes off him. We talked a little with the old man, I asked if he really lives alone in this village, he said, a little surprised, that he had never seen anyone here before? I clearly answered that no. He laughed a little and replied that a couple of other people lived here, and said with a little amusement why they got up so late, even though it was only the beginning of the day.

After meeting the mysterious old man, we began to walk through the village. Entering a nearby seemingly abandoned shop, it turned out that there was a man there. He was a merchant, funny and playful, although rather mysterious. But he seemed friendly enough to me, and suddenly he reveals his cover. I was a little scared, but it turned out he only showed the goods from his mysterious shop. He said that we should bring them from the nearest cities, offered to buy something, but I refused, because I definitely don’t have enough money for trinkets.
I decided to ask this mysterious merchant his name, he answered me that among us, among ordinary people, they don’t give names. But surprisingly, our master allowed even ordinary people to be called by names. Ordinary things began to feel like privilege for me.
